Creating a colourful ARTastic party

Colourful ARTastic Party

Our youngest daughter turned 9 in April.  We were away for a couple of weeks prior to the event and thought we’d have no time so we considered outsourcing. Instead, we decided to organise her birthday ourselves, as we realised we’d have a few days spare and most of the items could be arranged long distance anyway due to the beauty of technology. So there I was sometimes on the beach liaising with vendors – how I love my family and my job! To be able to do both at the same time is fantastic – be with them and source and liaise at the same time 🙂

The brief from the tween, was an art party, which should be colourful with lots of sweets. Details were ironed out as we went along. Taylah wanted to be and was involved in the event from concept, venue sourcing, to party related item sourcing and executing. We had so much fun creating all the various elements and drew everyone in to help ;)). Nothing like a sense of accomplishment for all, seeing their work in a final state of colourful fun!

The fun factors –

Home made items:

– paint splashed tablecloths (the kids and I had great fun splashing paint)

– chalkboard elements with fun art and sweet related catchy phrases

– sweet trees – Moms, aunt and sister painstakingly attached sweets to styrofoam balls and the effect was simply outstanding!

– Rice Krispie treats in the form of paint brushes – sugar, sugar and more sugar – sorry moms ;). Grand dad and granddaughters had much fun dipping into coloured icing

– Cake backdrop – streamers to add a bright colourful backdrop

Pinata – another birthday girl request – Pinatas.co.za in Muldersdrift helped us out with a colourful (sweets pre-filled) handmade customised, yes a 9 as I could not find one instore

Beautiful venue Sunset Mountain in Muldersdrift caters for all ages – little kids to teens with a water slide, jumping castle and zip line

Slush and soft serve machines simply added to the sugar rush which is a pre-requisite at parties 🙂

All in all Taylah’s birthday party was a huge success and the birthday girl in her own words “had the best birthday EVER

And that folks is why I so thoroughly enjoy and do what I do. I aim to bring happiness to the client ensuring your event is an absolute success by taking all the logistical nightmares off your hands because they’re an absolute pleasure to me.

Till next time,

Ciao
Vonda
